Euro area and European Union GDP flash estimates at 30 days - Produits Statistical working papers

Eurostat has advanced the GDP estimate for the euro area and the EU from 45 to 30 days after the quarter-end. This paper describes the reasons for advancing the GDP estimates and elaborates the estimation method applied. It also discusses the assessment results of the estimates for 16 test quarters that preceded the start of the official GDP release at 30 days.
