CORDIS Newsletter: Your window into advancements that shape the future (26/05/2025)
The CORDIS Newsletter brings you fresh ways to explore and engage with EU-funded research. In this edition, we focus on two recent CORDIS milestones: the launch of a user-driven classification system in EuroSciVoc, allowing users to shape how scientific content is organised, and the inclusion of Horizon Europe in the EURIO knowledge graph, enhancing the interconnected landscape of European research data.
Enhancing EuroSciVoc with user-driven categorisation (26/05/2025)
EuroSciVoc, the European Science Vocabulary managed by the Publications Office of the EU, is improving its classification system with a new feature that allows registered users to suggest categories for CORDIS projects. This participatory approach enhances accuracy by refining the automatic categorisation process, which previously relied solely on algorithmic suggestions.
Horizon Europe joins the EURIO Knowledge Graph (26/05/2025)
We are excited to announce a major expansion of the EURIO (European Research Information Ontology) Knowledge Graph. Until now, EURIO has been a valuable resource, encompassing data from the 7th Framework Programme for Research (FP7) and Horizon 2020 (H2020), providing comprehensive insights into research projects, results, and related information. Now, EURIO is making a significant evolutionary leap forward by integrating Horizon Europe. This expansion significantly increases the volume of EURIO, enhancing its role as a valuable resource for the research community.
The elephant on the CORDIS website: what exactly are Thematic Packs? (26/05/2025)
As this Newsletter continues to spotlight CORDIS functionalities, it’s time to talk about the elephant in the room – or in this case, on the CORDIS website: Thematic Packs. They occupy a prominent spot on the homepage, and perhaps for that reason, it is tempting to assume users already know all about them. This is a chance to refresh your knowledge.
CORDIS joining EU Science & Innovation Facebook page (26/05/2025)
We are excited to announce that CORDIS is joining forces with our colleagues on the EU Science & Innovation Facebook page. Starting in early June, CORDIS updates will be published there, allowing us to reach a broader audience interested in EU-funded research and innovation.
Horizon — The EU Research & Innovation Magazine (26/05/2025)
At Horizon Magazine, we speak science in a non-scientific way. The magazine helps readers get up close and personal with the amazing stories of EU-funded research, covering everything from Egyptian cat mummies and massive galaxy formation to edible robots and 3D-printed living materials.

CORDIS Newsletter: Your window into advancements that shape the future (15/11/2024)
In November, CORDIS celebrated 30 years of its online presence as the European Commission’s longest-running website, a milestone that prompts reflection on its journey from a pioneering research database to the comprehensive scientific knowledge hub it is today. Over these three decades, CORDIS has connected EU-funded research with the wider scientific community, following projects from their inception to completion – and beyond. Since 2004, CORDIS has been proudly managed by the Publications Office of the European Union.
Use the Data Extraction tool to make CORDIS data work for you (15/11/2024)
CORDIS has recently launched a new, powerful Data Extraction tool that allows you to create customised datasets from EU-funded research. Previously, users only had three options; they could settle for downloading basic search results, use the rather technical API (application programming interface) or access fixed datasets through data.europa.eu. This tool overcomes those limitations, enabling you to extract comprehensive data and metadata tailored to your needs.
CORDIScovery: your mind-sharpening podcast (15/11/2024)
Nothing sharpens the mind better than an interesting conversation, and that's exactly what the CORDIScovery podcast has to offer. With this podcast, you can stay connected to EU research in an engaging, accessible format.
EU-funded projects strengthen raw material security (15/11/2024)
Europe’s shift to a low-carbon, digital economy depends on a stable supply of critical raw materials (CRMs) essential for products like EV batteries and medical devices. However, heavy reliance on imports poses risks to this supply. In response, the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act aims to build a secure, sustainable CRM value chain.
Unlocking your full potential: from results to impact! (02/12/2024)
The European Commission recently launched an updated Horizon Results Booster – now known as the Booster – to help EU-funded projects in research and innovation bring their results to concrete use and to maximise their impact. Running until 2028, the Booster provides targeted coaching, assisting participants in developing strategies, business plans, risk assessments, and more – all for free.
