What is Your Europe Advice (YEA)?
Your Europe Advice (YEA) is a free legal advice service designed to help both citizens and businesses understand their personal EU rights. With a team of 56 legal experts, YEA responds to around 24,000 enquiries each year, offering tailored advice on how EU law applies to individual cases. Whether you're a citizen navigating social security benefits or a business tackling posting of workers regulations, YEA provides clear and personalised guidance within a week, usually within just 3 or 4 working days.

For Citizens
If you're an EU citizen, YEA can help you understand your rights related to living, working, and travelling within the EU. Common topics include social security (like pensions or family benefits), residence rights, entry procedures, and visas. The service ensures that legal advice is easy to understand, avoiding complicated legal jargon, so you know exactly how EU law applies to your situation. Simply submit your question online via the Your Europe portal or through the Europe Direct Contact Center, and you’ll receive a detailed response in your preferred language.

For Businesses
YEA is also a valuable resource for businesses operating in the EU, helping with issues such as professional qualifications, CE marking, posting of workers, and telework regulations. The service guides companies on how to comply with EU laws, ensuring smooth operations across borders. From the recognition of diplomas to understanding vehicle registration rules, YEA helps businesses navigate the Single Market with confidence.

How YEA Works
YEA replies to individual questions by email, offering advice in any of the 24 EU languages. You can submit your questions online or via phone, and rest assured that responses are tailored to your unique situation, with no unnecessary legal complexities. This service covers a wide range of topics governed by EU law, empowering citizens and businesses to take action and enforce their rights, often vis-à-vis national authorities.
