Attached you find the introduction and the executive summary of the results from an international workshop organised by the German Council on Foreign Relations (Thinktank primarily advising the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, and the Chancellery on issues of Foreign and Euorpean policy, incl. Security) and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences in Berlin, in September 2019, with the title "Towards EU Anticipatory Governance for AI".

Two members of the HLEG, and EU officials, among others, were part of the 30 European policy makers, members of the industry, representatives of the civil society, and the AI R&D community that contributed to our workshop.
